Tahira is the Srategy Head - Institutional Development at WRI India, where she coordinates fundraising and development. She is based in Mumbai. Since joining WRI India in 2009, Tahira has helped the cities team grow from 3 to 35 staff and set up offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. In the last 5 years, she has played a key role in defining strategy and scaling up operations for WRI India. Tahira also provides leadership for internal capacity building and talent development at WRI India.
Before joining WRI India Sustainable Cities, Tahira worked at GiveIndia, an online philanthropy platform that seeks to put individual donors in touch with transparent and accountable NGOs, heading the team responsible for conducting the due diligence process on NGOs listed on the GiveIndia website, and advising high net worth donors and corporates on their selection of projects, and philanthropic investments to maximize their social returns. Tahira has always been extremely interested in issues related to the environment and ecologically sustainable life styles, and is also interested in issues related to gender, education and child rights.
Tahira has a Bachelor's degree from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai and a Master's degree in Anthropology from the University of Pune.
