Bringing transit-oriented development to Kadkadooma

The project in Karkardooma involves development of 75 acres of land in East Delhi on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) norms and Smart city concepts. The project shall be developed on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) norms with 400 Floor Area Ratio (FAR). The project is strategically located between two metro lines and will consist of residential units and space for commercial offices. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) awarded the land to National Buildings Construction Corporation Ltd. (NBCC) for a joint development based on TOD norms and smart city principles. The project will be a green complex, there will be no surface parking and the development will have 100 storey signature tower, whereas the other towers shall be in range of 10-30 storey high. Karkardooma will be first TOD project in the country and will include 4800 houses, 80,000 Sq.mts. of retail space, 5 acre park apart from sculptures and Laser Park and a circular skywalk. NBCC will maintain the complex for 30 years. 

If developed well, the project has a potential to catalyse a large scale TOD development in the country.
