The pandemic has affected millions worldwide with the virus hitting India particularly hard. At WRI India we lost a dear colleague Ravi (Ravindranath Ponnapureddy) to post-COVID-19 complications.

Ravi provided leadership to public transport planning at WRI India. He was passionate about public transport and had a deep and abiding passion for justice and equity. He was particularly keen to improve public transport for the underserved in Indian cities. A leader and a team player, Ravi enjoyed mentoring young professionals and was greatly admired by his peers and colleagues.

In honour of Ravi’s ambition to improve public transport in Indian cities, we are initiating an annual dialogue series in public transport planning.

Do join us for the first dialogue on 22 July as we discuss, and spotlight, Ravi’s work over the last year. Subsequent editions of the 'Annual Dialogue on Public Transport Planning' will host experts, from India and abroad, who will share best practices in public transport solutions.
